Rosewood Hotels and Resorts will officially make its Hong Kong debut on March 17, 2019 with the opening of the Rosewood Hong Kong, which has begun accepting bookings today.

The new property, located next to the Victoria Harbour waterfront in the city’s Tsim Sha Tsui district, was first announced back in late 2016 and had originally been slated to open some time this year, though delays appear to have pushed back the official launch.

The Rosewood Hong Kong also notably fills a gap in the portfolio of Hong Kong-based Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, which currently doesn’t operate a property in its home market. The new hotel will take up residence on the site of the former New World Centre, with 43 of the building’s 65 storeys dedicated to the hotel and its associated residences.

Rosewood Hong Kong Standard Room

In total, the hotel is set to offer 322 rooms and 91 suites, with 80 per cent of guestrooms providing views of the Hong Kong harbour and the city’s famed skyline on Hong Kong Island. Rooms start at a generous 53 sqm (570 sqft) while suites begin at 92 sqm (990 sqft). The hotel also offers a 1,000-sqm (10,764-sqft) Harbour House suite and The Garden House suite, located on the 57th floor and both featuring their own private sky terraces with lap pools and their own gyms.

Guests staying in executive rooms will have access to the hotel’s 40th floor Manor Club lounge, which also has its own outdoor terraces along with complimentary food, handcrafted beverages, and a games room with a pool table.

On the food and beverage front, the property is due to offer eight different venues when fully opened, though at launch there will initially be just three: Chinese tea house Holt’s Café, Cantonese restaurant The Legacy House, and bar Darkside.

The hotel will be the first urban property offering Rosewood’s new signature wellness offering Asaya, which will span two floors.

Rosewood has been ramping up its portfolio in Asia-Pacific with a range of new properties entering the pipeline, notably the Rosewood Shenzhen (opening 2022), the Rosewood Hermana Mayor (opening 2023) and New World Jaipur Resort (opening 2023).
