Hainan Airlines is giving its business class bedding a significant upgrade with a new range of products from hotel brand Sofitel being rolled out on the airline’s long-haul international services.

The new products form part of the hotel’s popular Sofitel MyBed collection and include a waist cushion, full-size pillows, a duvet, bed sheet, feather topper and blanket. Hainan Airlines has also employed its latest Dream Feather design for the high-thread-count duvet covers, pillowcases and bed sheets.

The collection is rolling out across “select” long-haul services to overseas destinations, notably Hainan Airlines flights departing Beijing, Haikou, Changsha, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xi’an, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chengdu and Chongqing.

“Now, guests from around the world can bask in luxurious comfort with the chic Sofitel MyBed in the air,” said Gary Rosen, chairman and COO of Accorhotels Greater China.

“We look forward to transforming the sleep experience for guests flying 40,000 feet in the sky so they can feel rejuvenated when they land.”

Hainan Airlines has been taking steps to enhance its business class offering recently. Earlier this year, the airline rolled out new Space One noise-cancelling headphones from UK-based hi-fi brand KEF and Porsche Design, though these are currently limited to business class on domestic services.

Meanwhile last year, the carrier took delivery of its first Airbus A330-300 aircraft to feature its new Super Diamond business class seat products.
