Emirates is marking Thanksgiving later this month with new holiday menus that will be offered across all classes on board its flights to and from the US.
Special menus will begin being served at Emirates’ US airport lounges from today until November 22, at which point the new on-board menus will become available until November 25.
Exactly what passengers are served depends on their class of travel.
For first and business class passengers, a choice of appetisers will be offered, including: smoked duck salad with poached fig, pickled beetroot, green beans, plum chutney and hazelnuts; cauliflower soup; pumpkin soup; or smoked ocean trout with crème fraiche, cocktail onions and caper berries.
As a main course, a Thanksgiving roasted turkey will be served along with chestnut stuffing, cranberry jus lie, and either potato or pumpkin mash. Dessert is a pumpkin tart with whipped cream, caramel fudge, chocolate quenelle and pistachios, while premium passengers flying on one of Emirates’ Airbus A380 superjumbos can get limited edition pumpkin cupcakes at the onboard lounge.
Prior to this at the airline’s lounges in New York (JFK), Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles, guests can now get turkey dishes and mini pumpkin pies, while passengers using one of Emirates’ seven Dubai lounges will also get a special menu.
The Thanksgiving menu isn’t limited to premium passengers though, with economy class travellers also being given the option of roasted turkey with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted pumpkin in maple syrup.
In related news, as of yesterday passengers flying from Dubai to destinations in India can also choose from a selection of sweet treats as the airline marks Diwali.
These treats will be available until Saturday, November 10.
