The City of London will welcome a new 92-room property close to Mansion House, Cannon Street and Bank stations early next year.
Vintry and Mercer is now taking reservations from February 4, 2019, with standard room rates from £175 (weekends) and £285 (midweek).
The hotel is located on Garlick Hill, a couple of minutes’ walk from Mansion House Underground station and Cannon Street tube and rail station, and around five minutes’ from Bank station.
The hotel takes its name from the Vintry Ward of the City of London within which it is located, and the Mercer Guild, which traded in fine fabrics in the area.
Rooms feature free wifi, LED TVs with movies on-demand, Nespresso machines and Marshall speakers, and design elements including velvet headboards and leather door handles. Suites enjoy glass-panelled balconies overlooking the South Bank skyline.
Vintry Kitchen offers an all-day Asian menu, while the underground Do Not Disturb (DND) speakeasy cocktail bar takes inspiration from 1920s New York.
The hotel also features a roof terrace overlooking the South Bank and St Paul’s, with a glass-walled inside area and alfresco space, and a charcoal oven offering a menu celebrating British ingredients.
For meetings there are three events spaces, as well as a breakout area, and the hotel also has a gym with Life Fitness equipment and iPhone docks. The hotel is highlighting its eco-friendly credentials, with solar panels and a green roof.
Vintry and Mercer is from the same team as The Ampersand hotel in London’s South Kensignton (for a Tried and Tested review of this property click here), and will join the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection when it opens.
