Singapore is set to welcome a new Kempinski hotel next month when The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore opens its doors on October 1.

The new 157-room property is located within the restored Capitol Building and Stamford House on Stamford Road, with Pritzker Architecture Prize laureate Richard Meier behind the restoration efforts. The hotel notably offers direct access to the city’s renowned Capitol Theatre cinema.

Four F&B outlets will be available at The Capitol Kempinski, including a patisserie called the Chocolate Room that offers fresh and bespoke confectionary items. The property will also feature a Signature Bar offering classic and artisanal cocktails, a Lobby Lounge and restaurant Kempinski Gourmet Breakfast, which offers early morning dining.

Guestrooms start with the Classic Room at 32 sqm and go all the way up to the 137-sqm Heritage Suite. Overall, nine different categories of rooms and suites will be offered at the property.

On the leisure front, the property will also offer a fitness centre, a pool and a spa.

“Singapore is one of the world’s most exciting destinations and a crossroads of the past and future, making it an ideal stage for our continued expansion in Asia,” said Bernold O Schroeder, vice chairman of the management board of Kempinski Hotels.

“The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore will attract Singaporeans and international travellers alike as the ‘brand old new place’ to be, blending the best of the city-state’s past with the energy, creativity and entrepreneurship of modern day Singapore.”

A welcome discount of 20 per cent including complimentary breakfast is currently being offered until the end of December for stays between October 1 when the hotel opens its doors and December 31.
