British Airways has confirmed it is to use Do&Co catering on all outbound service from Heathrow.

The firm already provides the catering for BA’s Club World and First cabins on the Heathrow-JFK route, and was also responsible for developing the new menus for Club World on this service.

BA currently uses Gate Gourmet for all other catering on flights departing Heathrow, but from October the carrier will begin a phased switch over to new Do&Co menus, with all outbound services in all classes expected to be covered by early 2020.

In addition BA will use Newrest caterers on flights departing Gatwick – the firm already looks after the catering for BA Cityflyer services at London City.

In a statement provided to Business Traveller, British Airways said:

“We are currently investing £4.5bn for our customers, and a significant focus is on the food we serve in every cabin. We’ve already launched new and improved menus in Club World, which are proving very popular with customers, and brand new Club Europe catering took to the skies for the first time yesterday.

“Do&Co and Newrest will be strategic partners in driving that focus on great food and will deliver consistently high-quality meals on every flight. Their appointment will also enable us to streamline the complex logistics associated with catering hundreds of flights a day from Heathrow and Gatwick.

“As we move forward with this partnership, we’ll be working with Do&Co and Newrest to develop new menus for our customers to enjoy.”

Vienna-based Do&Co has a good reputation as a high-end caterer, and has handled the catering for Austrian Airlines for over a decade.
