Stansted airport has unveiled new computer generated images of its forthcoming Arrivals Terminal.
The £130 million facility has been designed by architects Pascall+Watson, and is set to open in 2020.
The new images show the terminal’s entrance and plaza style forecourt, as well as the immigration and baggage reclaim areas.
Stansted recently opened the first phase of a new check-in area, adding eight “hi-tech” desks at the terminal, as part of a £600 million transformation project which will also include upgrades to the airfield and car parks, as well as the addition of new upper deck seating areas in the departure lounge.
Commenting on the Arrivals Terminal Paul Willis, London Stansted’s Transformation Director, said:
“The Arrivals Terminal is the centrepiece project of our £600 million transformation programme and these latest images really whet the appetite of what the new and improved London Stansted Airport will look like when the facility opens in 2020.
“Our five-year multi-million-pound project will transform the experience for millions of passengers and help unlock the airport’s spare runway capacity, providing passengers with a wider choice of airlines and destinations.”
