Service apartment provider Saco will open the third property under its design-led Locke brand this October.

Whitworth Locke will be housed within a former cotton mill in Manchester’s Civic Quarter, and will feature 160 studio and one-bedroom suites with fully-equipped kitchens, smart TVs and free wifi.

Facilities will include co-working space “Locke Works”, a Cross Fit gym and yoga studio, cocktail bar, a Speak Easy-style basement bar, all-day dining restaurant, and a coffee shop in partnership with Foundation Coffee House.

Commenting on the news Eric Jafari, Locke’s Co-Founder and Creative Director, said:

“Manchester was the natural choice for our third venture. The city is dynamic, progressive and innovative, comprised of like-minded locals and brands. Whitworth Locke seamlessly blends the gritty, industrial heritage of the city with the design features and luxe interiors synonymous with the Locke brand.”

“We’re focused on re-shaping hospitality, that’s why Locke continues to identify the ever-evolving needs of the modern traveller. We know that simply providing a place to rest is no longer enough, travellers increasingly value their social experiences and personal connections. This ethos underpins the Locke brand and is evident in the design of our venues.”

The Locke brand launched in 2016 with London’s Leman Locke, followed by Eden Locke in Edinburgh’s New Town last year.
