Government to set up Civil Aviation Research Organisation in Hyderabad

Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced the setting up of Civil Aviation Research Organisation (CARO) in Begumpet, Hyderabad. The government has allocated 1200 crores for this project which includes the research and development infrastructure, procurement of tools, skill development and knowledge exchange that will benefit the Indian aviation sector.

Air Navigation System (ANS) and airport engineering system are the key focus areas of this project. Through this development, the government aims to keep pace with the rapid growth in India’s air passenger traffic.

Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation of India tweeted:

The CARO project is expected to be completed in 18 months from now. aai.aero
