Hyatt plans to add 12 new properties across Canada by 2020, more than doubling its current portfolio of nine hotels in the country.

The new properties will all be marketed under the group’s Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands.

This year the group will open the 127-room Hyatt Place Calgary Airport and the 126-room Hyatt Place Mississauga Centre in Ontario.

These will be followed in 2019 by four Hyatt Place hotels in Brampton (Ontario), Kelowna (British Columbia), Moncton (New Brunswick) and Winnipeg (Manitoba), and two Hyatt House properties in Hamilton/McCaster University (Ontario) and Winnipeg South West.

Finally in 2020 three Hyatt Place hotels are scheduled to open at Toronto International airport, Toronto Airport Corporate Centre and Vancouver Airport, as well as a Hyatt House property at Toronto Airport Corporate Centre.

The new hotels will add to existing Andaz, Hyatt Regency and Park Hyatt properties in the country, including the Park Hyatt Toronto which is currently closed for renovation and expected to reopen in December 2019.

Earlier this week Hyatt unveiled design and service plans for its new generation of Hyatt Place hotels, focusing on the three areas of thoughtful design, driving value for World of Hyatt members and enhanced well-being experiences.
