Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse

This 32-storey hotel opened its doors back in April. Situated on Surawong Road, the new Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse can be reached in approximately 45 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport by car, and its downtown location also places it a short distance from the Skytrain station and key attractions.

The hotel has a total of 197 guestrooms (including extended-stay apartments) and 106 deluxe suites, along with housing about 1,555 sqm of events space. A particular highlight of the property is the Yao Rooftop Bar, which offers a Shanghai-inspired terrace with impressive views of the city.

Holiday Inn Bangkok

Having completed a recent multimillion-dollar facelift of its guestrooms, lobby and F&B offerings, the Holiday Inn Bangkok reopened back in April with an entirely new look. The most notable change has been with the lobby, which now sees the front desk, restaurant, bar, lounge and business centre combined into a single space.

On the F&B side, the hotel’s all-day-dining restaurant Ginger now connects directly with the pool area, while the 1920s industrial-inspired bar Beer Republic has been given a refresh.

A new “nature-inspired” design has also been incorporated into each of the hotel’s 379 guestrooms.

Akyra Sukhumvit Bangkok

Opened earlier this month, the Akyra Sukhumvit Bangkok is located in one of the Thai capital’s most lively dining and lifestyle areas, Sukhumvit.

Among the most notable features of this boutique 46-room hotel is its committment to no single-use plastic in its rooms or F&B outlets. Instead, the property uses biodegradable bin bags and glass bottles, as well as making reusable shopping bags available. Bathroom amenities, meanwhile, are offered in locally made celadon pottery containers rather than individual plastic bottles, and stainless-steel water bottles are given to guests on arrival that can be filled up at self-service drinking water stations on each floor.
