Hilton is to add its first hotel in the spa town of Harrogate, with the rebranding of the Victorian era Majestic Hotel.
The property is currently undergoing a £15 million renovation programme ahead of being rebranded as the Doubletree by Hilton Harrogate at the end of 2019.
Features include 170 guestrooms, all of which will be refreshed, a spa and swimming pool, fitness centre, and events space for up to 500 delegates.
Dining facilities are set to be upgraded, with a new champagne bar and restaurant, as well as a lounge bar, terrace and private dining room.
The hotel is owned by the Cairn Group and is currently marketed under The Cairn Collection – it will be the third hotel from the group to join the Doubletree portfolio, following the rebranding of the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Newcastle International Airport and the Doubletree by Hilton Edinburgh – Queensferry Crossing.
Commenting on the news Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton, said:
“A Victorian landmark, this hotel is a fantastic addition to our Doubletree by Hilton portfolio. The hotel has been a paragon of Harrogate hospitality for more than one hundred years and, following its renovation, will become the first choice for hotel accommodation in the upmarket spa town.”
