Business Traveller rounds up new and upcoming hotels from brands including Tribute Portfolio, Hyatt and Yotel

New Road Hotel Whitechapel London

New Road Hotel, London

Situated in London’s East End, the boutique New Road Hotel has just opened near Whitechapel Station. Housed in an industrial building formerly used as a textile factory, the independently-owned hotel comprises 80 rooms and two private event rooms. Each floor also features a lounge with basic amenities such as snack stations and mini bars. Other facilities include fitness equipment and a library. As for gastronomy, on its ground floor the hotel boasts Mr. White’s English Chophouse, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And if guests don’t get enough Lucky Charms at home, they can head to Cereal Grind, London’s first cereal café inside a hotel, where sugar-filled bowls and cereal cocktails abound until 5pm.

Tribute Portfolio Hotel Zachary Chicago

Tribute Portfolio Hotel Zachary, Chicago

Marriott International subsidiary Tribute Portfolio has opened a new hotel in Chicago’s Lakeview neighbourhood, across the street from the Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team. There’s no need to be a fan of America’s favorite pastime to book a stay, but rest assured there will be a giant sketch of Wrigley Field in the hotel’s second floor lobby. The hotel contains 173 guest rooms, including 20 suites, all with room-to-floor windows and some with views of the Chicago skyline. In addition, the hotel features three eateries, The Bar at Hotel Zachary, the Alma Room and Mordecai, a bi-level cocktail bar.

Park Inn by Radisson Dubai Motor City

Park Inn by Radisson Dubai Motor City

Marking another edition to the Radisson Hotel Group’s collection of Dubai hotels, this particular Park Inn overlooks the Dubai Autodrome Racetrack. Consequently, the hotel lobby features a vintage red Ferrari suspended from the ceiling. The hotel’s 146 rooms and suites boast views of the racetrack and the Dubai city skyline, while its four meeting and event rooms have space enough to hold 200 people. Other facilities include a rooftop swimming pool, a fitness centre and a health club. The hotel’s Live-inn room restaurant offers motor-themed décor and international fare as well as breakfast daily. Both of Dubai’s International airports are 30 minutes away by car.

Hyatt Regency Seattle

Slated to open in autumn of 2018, the Hyatt Regency Seattle is set to be the largest hotel in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States with 1,260 rooms and more than 30,000 sqm of meeting and event space. Located in downtown Seattle, the hotel lies just two blocks from the Washington State Convention Centre and in close proximity to the city’s popular attractions, such as the Space Needle and Pike Place Market. Restaurant options will include a high-end steakhouse, a more casual eatery with American fare and a 24/7 takeaway market. The hotel’s location offers easy access to the city’s train system and lies 19 minutes from the Seattle international airport.

One and Only One Za'abeel

One and Only One Za’abeel, Dubai

Set within real estate developer Ithra Dubai’s upcoming two-tower, mixed-use complex, which is opening in 2020, this hotel will be the One and Only resort brand’s first urban resort. Located between Dubai’s old and new business districts, the development will include the One and Only resort as well as luxury residences, serviced apartments, office spaces and a sky concourse that connects the two towers. Despite being in the middle of bustling Dubai, the One and Only One Za’abeel promises to incorporate elements of its beach resorts, such as green spaces and luxury spas. In addition to these, the hotel will offer a gym and yoga studio as well as a rooftop pool. A restaurant will also be part of the hotel, but a name has yet to be announced.

Yotelpad Miami

This hotel is one of two Yotel residential projects under development in the United States and part of Yotel’s expansion into the extended stay market with Yotelpad. The property will offer 250 hotel rooms as well as 208 residential units, each with floor-to-ceiling glass windows doors and terraces displaying views of the Miami skyline. Other features include a bar with private dining, fitness centre, pool and pet spa. The hotel will only be a few minutes’ drive from Miami International Airport, and construction is set to start in Q4 of 2018.
