Dutch carrier KLM has unveiled its choice of business class seat for the airline’s forthcoming B787-10 Dreamliner aircraft.

KLM has eight of the aircraft on order, and will be the first European carrier to take delivery of the longest variant of the Dreamliner series in June 2019.

The airline says that the Venture seat – designed by Japanese firm Jamco – will be fitted in a fishbone configuration, giving direct aisle access to all business class passengers.

Features of the fully flat seat include an 18.5-inch IFE screen, a “Do Not Disturb” button on the armrest, and privacy partitions for middle seats. There will be a total of 38 of the new World Business Class seats on each of the carrier’s new B787-10 aircraft.

The images shown are of the generic Venture seat – the KLM-branded seats will be based on a design created in co-operation with Dutch industrial designer Hella Jongerius.

It’s not the first time KLM has worked with Jamco – the firm supplies the galleys on the carrier’s long-haul fleet.

Singapore Airlines is the launch customer for the B787-10 – the carrier took delivery of the first of 49 of the Boeing aircraft last month, and will operate it on regular services to Osaka and Perth from May.
