HeliTaxii service, a helicopter taxi service, has commenced in Bengaluru.

Operated by Thumby Aviation, it transfers passengers from Bangalore International Airport to Electronic City 1 in a helicopter. The inaugural flight was flagged by Subhash Chandra Kuntia, chief secretary of the government of Karnataka on March 5, 2018. Business Traveller India had reported on Bengaluru’s upcoming helicopter service back in September 2017.

It has begun its operations with one Bell 407 helicopter that carries six passengers. It will bring in a 13-seater Bell 412 helicopter once the demand picks up.

Currently it is operational between 06:30am and 09:45am, and 3:15pm and 6:00pm. A one-way journey for the airport shuttle between Bangalore International Airport and Electronic City’s Hindustan Airport is priced at ₹3,500 plus applicable taxes. HeliTaxii is also offering a corporate rate on making your booking through a corporate log-in, priced at ₹2500 plus taxes. This introductory offer is valid for 45 days.

Bookings can be made via the HeliTaxii app that is available for download on Android and iOS, or through the website.

HeliTaxii is working with pilots that have a cumulative experience of over 70,000 hours of accident/incident- free flying.

Thumby Aviation is in the business of buying/leasing helicopters and fixed wing aircraft for undertaking non-scheduled air transport operations.
