*****UPDATE: The station has now reopened, and Heathrow Express services are currently running every half an hour.*****

London’s Paddington Station has been forced to close this morning due to the adverse weather making its platforms and concourse area unsafe for passenger use.

The move has led to all Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect services being suspended, and Great Western Railway (GWR) services being forced to terminate at Reading.

According to the Heathrow Express website, last updated at 1008:

“There is currently no service in either direction.

“London Paddington station is closed due to adverse weather conditions affecting the platforms and concourse area.

“Network Rail is working to make sure the platforms and concourse are safe before re-opening”.

Note that there are also severe delays on the Piccadilly Line between Acton Town and Heathrow.

GWR says that ticket acceptance is in place as follows:

  • London Underground via any reasonable route
  • Chiltern Railways between London Marylebone, Banbury and Leamington Spa, also, Bicester North for Bicester Village and Oxford
  • South Western Railway via any reasonable route.
