The new Lufthansa livery has been revealed, following weeks of speculation.

The new design has kept the iconic crane image, but dropped the yellow colouring in favour of a new “Lufthansa Blue” design.

The livery was shown to media at an event in Cape Town by CEO Carsten Spohr.

Aviation journalist Andreas Spaeth was at the event, and quotes Spohr as saying that it will take eight years to paint all of the carrier’s 330 aircraft – 40 are set to get the new livery by the end of this year.

The new livery had been widely circulated by the media today, but has now been posted on Lufthansa’s media relations Twitter page, along with a series of teaser videos including one of a hangar door opening, with the wording “Much changes. Good remains. #LufthansaBlue”.
