Previously marketed under the Ritz-Carlton brand, Marriott has announced the debut of this revamped hotel after renovations and rebranding under the Luxury Collection.
Located in Buckhead, the hotel has renovated the restaurant and bar along with its ballroom. There are plans to enhance the 507 guest rooms and refresh the public spaces. Other facilities include 2,800 sqm of multi-use function space, an indoor heated pool, a gym and a spa.
Hotel Talisa, Vail, Colorado
The 285-room Luxury Collection hotel, formerly Vail Cascade Resort and Spa, has undergone a US$60+ million renovation and rebrand. Set along Gore Creek, this luxury ski-in/ski-out resort now has three restaurants, 3,700 sqm of meeting and event space, a spa and a 24-hour gym.
This is the first ski destination property in North America for the Luxury Collection brand. Gessner, the hotel’s full service restaurant, features cuisine inspired by the Colorado Rockies; the Fireside Bar and Lounge is where guests can enjoy après-ski all year, while the Market offers guests quick takeaway options.
Ventana Big Sur, California
After a multi-million dollar renovation, the first Alila Hotels and resorts property in North America has just opened. All 59 rooms have had a refresh. There’s an upgraded ocean-view terrace and outdoor bar at the Sur House restaurant, a redesigned lobby, multiple event spaces both indoor and outdoor, and a spa. Rustic designs throughout the hotel are inspired by the resort’s surrounding landscape, with furnishings of rich leathers and woods.
Movenpick Resort and Spa, Boracay, Philippines
Overlooking the ocean on Punta Bunga Cove, the hotel has 312 rooms and 200 metres of private beaches. The resort features the island’s biggest swimming pool at 3,300 sqm, indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, a spa and a gym. Dining options include pan-Asian and international flavours from the Market, Italian cuisine at Brezza, Korean barbeque, or Japanese dishes at Saam. The hotel is 30 minutes from Caticlan airport.
Waterline Marina Resort and Beach Club, Anna Maria Island, Florida
This Autograph Collection boutique hotel has 37 rooms with kitchens, and 50 boat slips in their marina for guests. The resort offers 190 sqm of indoor and outdoor meeting space, Eliza Ann’s Coastal Kitchen restaurant and bar, and a resort-style swimming pool with oversized sun deck extending into the marina.

Zuri Zanzibar
Design Hotels has announced plans to open a luxury contemporary hotel with Asian influences in Zanzibar in May 2018. Located on the northern coast of Unguja, Kendwa, the resort has 300 sqm of beaches and 55 bungalows. The resort will have three restaurants and four bars inspired by international flavours and culinary traditions, an infinity pool and an indoor and outdoor gym.
Prague and London-based studio Jestico & Whiles are responsible for the design, which incorporates natural, regional materials and traditional craftsmanship. Elements such as the thatched roofs and traditional East African artwork emulate a traditional Zanzibari village.
