Hotel bookings made through travel company Expedia until the end of this year could earn you up to five times’ the normal number of Asia Miles.

The new promotion runs until December 31, 2017 and requires stays to be completed before March 31, 2018.

However, the five-times bonus miles offer is not open to all, and is not guaranteed to all who book through Expedia. Only the first 3,000 hotel bookings will be able to accrue quintuple Asia Miles, with all others thereafter accruing just double the number of miles. Members also have to be located in either Hong Kong or Taiwan in order to be eligible for the offer.

Asia Miles typically offers two miles per HK$10 spent and one mile per TW$30 spent.

There is a plus side for Expedia+ loyalty members, however, in that bookings through the site can earn both Asia Miles and Expedia+ points.

Earlier this month, Asia Miles, the rewards programme of airlines Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon, launched another promotion offering bonus miles based on the total number of miles earned between November 1 and December 31 this year.

Meanwhile, economy class bookings made before December 17 on select Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon routes can accrue between 3,000 and 6,000 bonus Asia Miles for members based in Hong Kong or Macau.
