Singapore Airlines’ Krisflyer frequent-flyer programme has just begun partnering with Heathrow Rewards, the dining, retail and transport rewards scheme for London Heathrow Airport, with the latter now able to be converted into Krisflyer miles.

The two rewards programmes began enabling conversions on Tuesday, though these can only be done one way (Heathrow Rewards to Krisflyer miles). The rate is 1:1, with 250 points being converted at a time.

The tie-up is a handy way for Krisflyer members that regularly fly the airline’s four daily flights between Singapore and London to rack up a few extra miles. Heathrow Rewards provides one point for every £1 (US$1.3) spent on shopping, F&B, parking and the Heathrow Express train, as well as one point for every £10 (US$13) used at a currency exchange bureau.

Krisflyer members can also quickly accrue a few points to get them started. If you use the code SAAO17 and when joining and spend £50 (US$65) on your first visit before the end of the year, you can get an additional 200 points that can eventually be converted.

Singapore Airlines isn’t the only carrier whose loyalty programme can get miles from Heathrow Rewards conversions. Aer Lingus’s Aer Club, Emirates’ Skywards, Etihad Guest, Lufthansa’s Miles and More, Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club, and British Airways’ Executive Club programmes can also convert at the same rate as Krisflyer.
