Marriott has launched a new extension to its Marriott Rewards loyalty programme, allowing members to earn and redeem points when shopping online.

The Marriott Rewards More scheme has initially launched in Canada, the UK and the US, and works through a desktop browser extension or via Apple and Android apps.

Members will earn points when shopping online with over 20 retailers including Nike, Debenhams, Apple, Boots and Net-A-Porter, and can also choose to redeem existing points against purchases, or opt to pay with a combination of cash and points.

Points earned are immediately available in members’ accounts for use against purhcases, hotel redemptions or Marriott Rewards Moments.

To encourage members to use the service, Marriott Rewards is offering a bonus 1,000 points on the first transaction of £25, as well as 25 per cent bonus points on transactions made using the Marriott Rewards credit card.

Commenting on the launch David Flueck, Senior Vice President of Global Loyalty, Marriott International said:

“Through More, we’ve gathered the retailers and brands members love most, so they check off items on their packing list and be rewarded with points for future use.”
