Canadian carrier Air Transat has revamped its range of Eco fares, adding new benefits including seat selection and additional luggage allowance.

The low-cost airline flies year-round from Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow to Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, with seasonal flights to Calgary and Quebec City.

Eco fares were introduced in 2014, but have now been revamped to include standard seat seat selection for Eco Extra and Eco Max customers, as well as an additional piece of checked luggage and priority airport services for Eco max passengers.

Selected change and cancellation fees have also been revised, with Eco Max customers now paying £50 per person per flight to cancel their ticket.

All Eco fares include a meal service, and one piece of checked luggage as a minimum.

To reflect the additional benefits provided to Eco Extra and Eco Max customers, Eco Extra and Eco Max customers can now purchase the existing Option Plus add-on for a reduced fee of £9.60 (80 per cent discount) for Eco Max passengers and £24 (50 per cent discount) for Eco Extra customers.

The add-on package – which includes benefits such as additional luggage, seat selection, priority airport services, and onboard amenities such as snacks and alcohol with meal services – remains available for a fee of £48 to the lowest rate Eco customers.

British Airways recently announced new summer 2018 flights from Gatwick to Toronto, while Nordic carrier Primera Air will launch routes from Stansted and Birmingham to the Canadian city next year.
