Qatar Airways has extended its recently introduced pre-order dining service for premium passengers.

The benefit is now available to business and first class travellers on long-haul routes to Africa and Asia, joining Europe, the Americas and Australasia.

Passengers can pre-select their main course from the a la carte menu, between 14 days and 24 hours before take-off, by logging into ‘My Trips’ on the Qatar Airways website or mobile app.

Commenting on the news Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said:

“Following its highly successful introduction in August, we have decided to extend our popular Pre-Select Dining service for passengers flying on long-haul flights from Doha to select destinations in Africa and Asia.

“This gives even more of our first and business class passengers the opportunity to pre-select their meals before they fly and is a highly-valued enhancement to our already unrivalled onboard experience.”

The carrier is not the first to introduce a pre-order service for its premium customers. Singapore Airlines offers a Book the Cook service for its suites, first, business and premium economy passengers, while British Airways allows First, Club World and World Traveller Plus travellers to pre-order meals on selected flights from Gatwick and Heathrow (World Traveller passengers can also opt to purchase inflight meals in advance).
