The World Economic Forum (WEF) has ranked 136 of the world’s countries by travel and tourism competitiveness, based on everything from business environment to safety as part of its Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2017.

Europe and North America did particularly well, with eight destinations ranked in the top 10. Spain took the top spot with an overall score of 5.43, followed by France (5.32) and Germany (5.28).

With six countries in the top 20 and numerous winners across business environment, ICT readiness and international openness, Asia-Pacific also scores highly.
