On account of runway work at Chandigarh International Airport, nine daily flights will be cancelled, reducing the number of operational services from 36 to 27.

A tentative summer flight schedule will be applicable between October 3-28, with the implementation of new watch hours. During this period, it will operate between 5am-4pm from Mondays to Saturdays; the airport will remain closed on Sundays.

Adversely hit are the operations of IndiGo, SpiceJet and Jet Airways. Three flights of IndiGo will be scrapped from the tentative schedule. This includes evening services to Srinagar, Mumbai and Bengaluru. IndiGo’s international flight to Dubai will remain unaffected, departing at 3:45pm.

SpiceJet’s evening flights to Jaipur, Delhi and Hyderabad have been cancelled as per the tentative schedule. The flight to Delhi that earlier departed at 4.10pm, will depart at 3.35pm during this period.

Virendra Rathore, local station manager of Jet Airways, confirms the cancellation of three of the airline’s flights. He says, “The flights departing to Delhi at 6:05 pm, 7:40 pm and 9:35 pm have been discontinued in the new schedule. We have received confirmation for six flights (four to Delhi, one to Mumbai and one to Jaipur) whose timings remain unchanged.”

There will be no cancellation in Air India’s flights.
