Accor Hotels has announced it will open the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul in 2020.

The hotel will be located in Seoul’s Yeouido financial district as part of an integrated development by Parc 1 that will comprise a retail mall and two office towers.

Lying adjacent to Yeouido Park, the hotel will be within five to ten minutes’ walk of Yeouido and Yeouinauru train stations, and a 1.5-hour drive from Incheon International Airport.

Patrick Basset, chief operating officer of Accor Hotels upper southeast and northeast Asia, said: “Accor Hotels has 30 years of experience in managing hotels in South Korea. We are very excited to announce this partnership where we can leverage on our expertise in hotel management to set a luxury footprint to introduce the Fairmont brand into the market. The opening of Fairmont Ambassador Seoul in 2020 will become the group’s newest landmark in South Korea.”

The hotel will be designed by renowned architect Richard Rogers and will feature 326 guestrooms, a rooftop terrace, spa, fitness centre, pool, conference hall and four restaurants and a bar.

Accor is also opening the mega Seoul Dragon City complex in October, featuring four hotels – Novotel, Ibis Styles, Grand Mercure and Novotel Suites.
