Niccolo Hotels has unveiled new renderings of its upcoming flagship Hong Kong property, The Murray, Hong Kong.

Due to open in December 2017, the hotel is housed within a building that dates back to 1969 and is currently being redesigned and refurbished by architectural firm Foster and Partners.

“With the Murray Building – an outstanding example of 1970s Hong Kong architecture – we have been able to reconnect an important civic landmark with the city,” said Luke Fox, senior executive partner and head of studio at Foster + Partners. “This project draws on key areas of our expertise in urbanism, architecture and interiors, and our design will breathe new life into this classic Hong Kong building by creating a unique hotel and leisure destination for international visitors and locals to enjoy.”

When completed, the hotel is set to have 336 guestrooms and suites across 25 floors, along with high-end wellness facilities, four F&B offerings, a rooftop bar and meetings facilities.

The Murray, Hong Kong will join Wharf Hotels group’s Niccolo Hotels brand, which it operates alongside its Marco Polo Hotels family. Currently, Niccolo Hotels comprises just one property – the Niccolo, Chengdu that opened in April 2015 – however almost all of Wharf Hotels’ plans involve properties in the nascent brand’s portfolio.
