Independent hotel collection Preferred Hotels and Resorts has recently added nine new Asia-Pacific member properties to its portfolio, including hotels in Japan, Vietnam, China, India and the Maldives.

Many of these new additions are located within major cities. The 40-storey Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel and the 267-room Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, for instance, are both situated within the Japanese capital, though both offer a distinctly different experience. The Cerulean Tower, for example, is located close to the city’s famous Shibuya Crossing and has an on-site Noh Theater, which stages traditional Japanese performances. Meanwhile the Hotel Chinzanso is located within a five-hectare Japanese garden that is also home to a 14th-century pagoda and a century-old teahouse.

Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City has also contributed two new hotels in the form of the 376-room Windsor Plaza Hotel in the city’s District 5 with markets, pagodas and the Reunification Palace, and the soon-to-open Sherwood Suites, which features a more mainstream serviced apartment offering comprising studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments.

Also among the recently joined properties are two in Chengdu – the Minyoun Chengdu Dongda Hotel and the Minyoun Chengdu Kehua Hotel – along with The Chedi in Mumbai and Welcomhotel Coimbatore in India, and the Biyadhoo Island Resort in the Maldives.

These new additions form part of a wider global expansion of the group’s portfolio, which has seen the inclusion of 23 new hotels to its network between May and July this year.

Back in April, Preferred Hotels launched its new loyalty app, through which guests can book stays and get access to special member rates.
