Rosewood Hotel Group is advising customers to be on the alert for fraud or identity theft, after it emerged that the group’s reservations service provider, Sabre Hospitality Solutions, had suffered a security breach.

The warning is aimed at customers who made reservations between November 3, 2016 and March 9, 2017.

According to the group, an unauthorised party gained access to payment card information for certain reservations made at the group’s Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, New World Hotels, and its Pentahotels brands during this time.

Cardholder names, card numbers, expiration dates and potentially card security codes were accessed, and in some cases, guest names, emails, phone numbers, addresses and other information.

The group has stated that social security, passport and driver’s licence information had not been compromised.

While Rosewood is working with Sabre to notify affected customers, it also advises people who made bookings in the affected time period to regularly review their account statements.
