Canada’s flag carrier has launched a new non-stop route between Toronto and Mumbai. The year-round, four times weekly service will be operated with Air Canada’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, flight AC046 takes off from Toronto at 2135 and arrives in Mumbai at 2130 the next day.

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, flight AC047 takes off from Mumbai at 2330 and arrives in Toronto at 0510 the next day.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner features 30 business class lie-flat suites, 21 seats in premium economy and 247 in the economy class.

Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines at Air Canada says, ”Air Canada is always excited to launch a new route and this is particularly gratifying given Mumbai is India’s largest city and regarded as [India’s] financial, commercial and entertainment capital. This flight is the third route we have started to India in less than two years, demonstrating our commitment to this vibrant market as well to our continuing international expansion strategy. This is the only non-stop service between Canada and Mumbai and positions Air Canada as offering the best coverage of any carrier operating between Canada and India.”

Air Canada flies its Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the year-round daily Toronto-Delhi and seasonal Vancouver-Delhi routes. The latter will resume in October this year and will expand to five times weekly from what was three times weekly last winter.
