Yotel has announced plans for its first city centre property in Amsterdam.

The 204-cabin hotel will be located in the Amsterdam Noord area of the city, and will feature “significant outdoor space, an outdoor terrace next to the water, boat docking spaces and a unique sustainable water system”.

Cabins will offer the brand’s adjustable smart beds, monsoon rain showers, and technowall with mood lighting and smart TV, and there will be a Club Lounge with restaurant and bar. Free wifi will be available throughout the property.

Yotel Amsterdam is scheduled to open in late 2019, and will join the existing Yotel Air Schiphol Airport.

It will also be the second city centre property under the Yotel brand in Europe, joining a recently announced London Clerkenwell hotel.

Yotel to open first London city centre property

Last year Yotel created a new Yotel Air brand to distinguish its established portfolio of airport properties from its fledging city centre offering.

Commenting on the new development Hubert Viriot, CEO of Yotel said:

“Over the past year, we have been talking about the unprecedented rate of expansion of the Yotel brand across the globe with the opening of a new Yotel Air in Paris Charles de Gaulle and breaking ground in both London and Dubai.

“This year alone we will be opening three new city hotels in Boston, Singapore and San Francisco.  We are delighted about embarking on our Yotel Amsterdam venture with Being Development which is the next step in expanding our portfolio of affordable luxury hotels in Europe.”

The regenerated Amsterdam Noord district is home to companies including Red Bull and MTV Studios, as well as the A’dam Tower and Eye film museum, and is around 30 minutes from Amsterdam Schiphol airport.
