Ryanair customers who purchase an allocated seat for their flight can now check-in up to 60 days in advance.

The new check-in window is double the previous 30 days, and applies to passengers who purchase their seat online, either during the booking process or subsequently.

By comparison, customers who do not purchase an allocated seat may only check-in between four days and two hours before their flight.

Ryanair said that the extension was part of year four of its “Always Getting Better” programme, with other recent announcements including the Ryanair Rooms accommodation service, and a partnership with Air Europa which will lead to connecting flights between the two carriers.

Easyjet customers can check in up to 30 days before their flight, while online check-in for British Airways flights opens 24 hours before departure.
