ibis Styles, AccorHotels’ economy brand, has launched a new property in the riverside town of Reading in southern England — ibis Styles Reading Centre.

Interiors of the 3-star property are heavily influenced by India’s vibrancy and diversity, such as “the pulsating energy of the cities and spice markets, while providing guests with the tranquillity of serene beaches and backwaters”.

The lobby and other public areas of ibis Styles Reading Centre are dressed in earthy colours that are quintessential to India. The country’s iconic sites and features are portrayed in photographs and paintings placed around the property. These include Taj Mahal, River Ganges and Khari Baoli to name a few.

Each of the 97 rooms include a 32-inch flat screen TV, work desk, tea and coffee making facilities, free wifi and a shower. They’re decorated in splashes of bright colours and receive plenty of natural light through large windows.

Breakfast is served each morning at the hotel’s only restaurant. It is closed for lunch, but offers coffee and dinner on all days of the week. The cafe-style menu is not heavily influenced by Indian cuisine though. The bar offers a variety of drinks including cocktails. There is a “hospitality zone” that is open round the clock and serves free tea and coffee at all times.

There are no meeting rooms on the property, but guests can pay for the printing and photocopying facilities.

The 100 per cent no-smoking hotel is a two-minute walk from the train station, and is within close proximity to The Oracle Shopping Centre, Reading Abbey Ruins, the Reading Museum and the River Thames.

James Wheatcroft, VP marketing budget and economy brands at AccorHotels UK, says, “With style and comfort at its core, ibis Styles Reading Centre reinforces our position as the benchmark of the economy segment. The hotel’s artistic storytelling, gives our guests a unique experience and an ultimate base to explore Reading and its surroundings.”
