Staycity Manchester Piccadilly

Staycity Manchester Piccadilly has opened next to Piccadilly Station in Gateway House, a modernist office block also known as the “Lazy S”.

Offering 182 short-let apartments, the property has a range of one, two, and three-bed units, each with an ensuite bathroom, living room, kitchen and dining area. The building also has a café, a lounge, a gym and parking for 56 vehicles, plus a 24-hour reception service. Four meeting rooms are also available to book.

The Laylow Hawaii Autograph Collection

The Laylow, Autograph Collection

Autograph Collection has reopened The Laylow hotel following a US$60 million renovation. Located in Oahu, Hawaii, the 251-room hotel’s new design combines mid-century modernism with its tropical surroundings, with rooms decorated in earthy tones, custom-made mostera leaf wallpaper plus Hawaiian furnishings.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Hideout, has an open-air terrace with two fire pits, and a saltwater pool, daybeds and cabanas adjacent.

Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown

Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown has debuted a US$35 million renovation, including refreshed rooms, larger meeting space, a remodelled gym and new restaurants. At the heart of the refurbishment is the hotel’s new penthouse bar and event space, Skye, which offers panoramic views of Nashville alongside hand-blown glass chandeliers, a “floating” wooden staircase and a tank filled with jellyfish, plus a drinks menu offering 50 varietals of bourbon.

Located near the Tennessee State Capitol, the hotel has 482 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, an indoor pool, and 2,787 sqm of meeting space.

Four Points Sheraton Danzhou

Four Points by Sheraton Danzhou

Marriott has opened the Four Points by Sheraton Danzhou on Hainan Island, China. This is the brand’s third hotel on the southern Chinese island and the first international brand in the coastal city of Danzhou.

A 90-minute drive from Haikou Meilan airport, the hotel has 194 rooms, each with private balconies, three restaurants and bars and 1,800 sqm of meeting space, including a 760 sqm pillarless ballroom.

Movenpick Hotel Sylhet Bangladesh

Movenpick Hotels and Resorts is set to open a new hotel in Bangladesh in late 2018. Located in the northeastern city of Sylhet, the Movenpick Hotel Sylhet Bangladesh will have 210 rooms, a gym, a tennis court and bowling alley, plus an all day dining restaurant, a specialty bistro and lounge. It will also have a business centre and some of the city’s largest meeting rooms.

Mandarin Oriental Santiago

Mandarin Oriental is due to take over management of a 310-room hotel in Santiago, Chile from August this year. A full renovation of the rooms and public areas is planned, with the first stage scheduled to complete in August 2018, though the hotel will continue to operate during the refurbishment. Located in the affluent Las Condes district, the hotel offers views of the city and the Andes mountain range, plus a free-form outdoor pool, five restaurants and bars, a spa, a gym and meeting space.

Four Seasons Kuwait at Burj Alshaya

Four Seasons is due to open in Kuwait City this September. Located in the city centre, it will have 284 rooms, five restaurants, a two-storey spa, a gym, plus indoor and outdoor pools. A 20-minute drive from Kuwait International airport, it will also be near the Souk Al Mubarakiya, Kuwait’s largest luxury shopping mall, the Kuwait National Museum and Sheikh Jaber Cultural Centre.

Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh

Fairfield by Marriott is due to open its first property in Cambodia by 2021. Located in Phnom Penh, the hotel will have an on-site restaurant and a gym, though further details have yet to be revealed. It will be a 20-minute drive from Phnom Penh International airport and a short walk from Peace Palace, where Cambodia’s prime minister’s offices are based.

Swisshotel sarajevo

Swisshotel Sarajevo

Swissotel has announced plans to open its first property in Bosnia. Located next to the Bosnian Parliament in Sarajevo, the 218-room hotel is on course to open early next year, offering a private executive club, three restaurants, 500 sqm of meeting space and a spa. The hotel will be housed in a commercial and retail complex in the city centre, with design headed up by UK firm Scott Brownrigg.
