British Airways has opened its new lounge at Boston’s Logan International airport to coincide with the launch of the A380 on the London route, which flies up to four times weekly.
Located in the newly renovated section of Terminal E, the lounge has a number of work areas with upright and comfortable seating, a “Concorde Dining” restaurant with hot and cold buffet options as well as a self-service bar.
It also has a manned horse-shoe bar with views of the city skyline, plus a shower suite, reading area, and free wifi throughout.
The lounge is 30 per cent bigger than the previous space, holding up to 220 people, with direct gate access to the aircraft.
An investment of £88 million is planned for lounge facilities in the US, with New York’s JFK Terminal 7 First and Club World lounges due to receive over £52 million in the next two years.
Further investment is also planned for San Francisco, Johannesburg, Manchester and Chicago airports. Heathrow’s Terminal 5 lounges will be revamped in the next few years, starting with the flagship Concorde Room for First customers, which will have new furniture and updated decor.
