Hilton has announced its first Hampton property in Leeds, scheduled to open in late 2019.

The 14-storey, 192-room Hampton by Hilton Leeds City Centre will form part of the regeneration of the city’s Bridge Street site, which was formerly home to British Gas.

The site is located close to the Victoria Gate shopping centre, and the city’s Mabgate district – other plans for the development include around 800 apartments across five buildings.

The hotel will be the third Hilton property in Leeds, joining the existing Hilton Leeds City, and the Doubletree by Hilton Leeds City Centre.

There are currently 18 Hampton properties in the UK, with a further 22 in the pipeline. For a recent review of the Hampton by Hilton Newcastle, click here.

Commenting on the news Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Hilton said:

“An important regional capital, Leeds is at the centre of the North of England’s economy and with the UK Government’s Northern Powerhouse proposals set to boost the regional economy – with investment in HS2 and local businesses – visitor numbers are set to increase considerably in the next five to ten years.

“This is a terrific project to be a part of and a great opportunity to expand our fast growing Hampton by Hilton presence in the UK.”
