London City airport has announced that it will open its new business lounge on March 20.
Housed in a new area of the airport’s Private Jet Centre, the lounge is a five-minute drive from the main terminal, with guests being offered a complimentary taxi shuttle to and from it. Lounge access will be priced at £35 per person.
Open to passengers of any airline, it will offer a buffet of cold dishes, snacks and alcoholic beverages at no extra charge and features hand-made furniture, a flat screen TV, numerous charging points and free wifi. It can hold 30 passengers.

Commenting on the opening, London City airport Jet Centre customer service manager Chris Clayton said:
“Our priority is our passengers and the team will always go the extra mile to ensure they have what they need to keep their airport experience memorable and stress-free.”
Passengers will be required to check any hold luggage before entering the lounge, where they will need their boarding pass to gain access. A minimum of 30 minutes is required to allow passengers to return to the terminal via taxi transfer and pass through security.

The new lounge will join the existing first class lounge, where guests are offered a bag drop service and security clearance with no queues, before a transfer to the aircraft steps. Access is £95 per person.
Last year, London City airport saw 4.5 million passengers, with some 52 per cent of these travelling for business.
