Korean Air has operated the first scheduled A380 service into Dubai World Central airport (DWC).

The flag carrier is operating a series of scheduled charter flights into the airport using its superjumbo aircraft, in addition to existing services to Dubai International.

Flight KE9951 was welcomed by a traditional water cannon salute on its arrival at the airport, as part of a seasonal service to meet demand for Dubai cruises.

DWC welcomed a total of 850,633 passengers in 2016, and is currently served by 27 passenger airlines.

Low-cost carrier Flydubai is scheduled to move its entire operations to the facility by the end of 2017, and last year the airport announced plans for the expansion of services within its passenger terminal building, as the facility aims to handle up to 26.5 million passengers per year by 2025.
