Accorhotels has announced plans to purchase “elite travel broker” Travel Keys.

The French hotel groups says it has “begun exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of 100 per cent of Travel Keys, one of the leading players in the private vacation rental market”, with the transaction expected to close in the second quarter of this year.

Travel Keys represents over 5,000 “highly curated villas” across more than 100 destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii and the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa.

The broker will add to Accorhotels growing offering in the private rental market, following the acquisition of London-based luxury serviced homes provider Onefinestay last year, along with French firm Square Break, which aims to offer private homes with hotel services.

Commenting on the news Sebastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accorhotels said:

“Travel Keys brings an impressive portfolio of premium properties to our existing activities. This acquisition further demonstrates our agility and dynamic approach to offer comprehensive services to our clients.”
