Hilton has announced plans to open a Hampton by Hilton in Blackpool in 2018.

A five-minute drive from Blackpool airport, the 130-room hotel will be located within walking distance of Pleasure Beach, a popular amusement park on the coast, and two tram stations providing access to the city centre. The hotel is part of a £31 million regeneration project that plans to build new office blocks, retail outlets, parking space and additional tram stops between main train stations and the city centre.

Commenting on the new opening Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development EMEA at Hilton said: “Blackpool is seeing major investment. The local council has successfully completed projects to upgrade the town’s promenade and reinvigorate its tram system.

“The regeneration continues with “Destination Blackpool”, the local council’s plan for 2015-2017, that aims to transform perceptions of the town into a quality year-round place for families. There is no better time, then, to introduce one of our fastest-growing brand in the UK, to one of Britain’s best known destinations.”

Hampton by Hilton Blackpool will join 18 Hampton by Hilton hotels in the UK. A further 16 Hampton by Hilton properties are currently under development country-wide.
