Dutch hotel group Citizen M is to open four properties in Paris, New York and Taipei this year.

The “affordable luxury” brand will add two hotels in Paris – the 175-room Citizen M Paris La Defense scheduled to open this spring, and the 330-room Citizen M Gare de Lyon (rendering pictured above) in early summer. The properties will join the existing Citizen M Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport hotel.

In New York Citizen M will open a 300-room property in the city’s Bowery district at the end of the year, joining the existing Citizen M Times Square, while in Taiwan the 267-room Citizen M Taipei is set to open in April.

The group will also open a hotel in Shanghai’s Hongqiao district in 2018, and says it is “actively pursuing opportunities” in US cities including Boston, Seattle, San Francisco and LA, as well as in Germany, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Hong Kong, Beijing, Jakarta, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Last year Citizen M opened two properties in London’s Shoreditch Tower of London and areas – for a review of the latter click here.

Signature features of the Citizen M room offering include free wifi and on demand movies, beds measuring two metres squared, and Skype-based phone rates.
