Finnair has announced the expansion of its codeshare partnership with Flybe, allowing passengers to fly to four additional UK cities.

The new locations include Birmingham, Cardiff, Doncaster Sheffield and Southampton airports, with customers now able to book Finnair flights departing from 11 UK airports.

Finnair’s AY code has been added to the following Flybe routes:

  • Cardiff/Doncaster-Sheffield/Birmingham/Southampton to Paris Charles de Gaulle
  • Birmingham/Southampton to Dusseldorf
  • Birmingham/Southampton/Doncaster-Sheffield to Amsterdam and
  • Birmingham to Berlin

Commenting on the expansion, Flybe’s chief revenue officer Vincent Hodder said: “The extension of our well established codeshare partnership gives both Flybe and Finnair increased network reach and reinforces our commitment to provide our customers with convenient seamless ‘One Stop to the World’ connections from their local airport.”

“Finnair customers will also be able to earn and redeem Finnair Plus points on any Flybe-operated flight that also carries Finnair’s AY flight designator.”

Flybe originally established its codeshare agreement with Finnair in 2014, operating routes between Manchester and eight UK regional airports – Aberdeen, Belfast City, Edinburgh, Exeter, Isle of Man, Jersey, Newquay and Southampton.
