Air France has unveiled details of special celebratory flights for the carrier’s forthcoming B787-9 aircraft.

The airline is scheduled to take delivery of the Dreamliner on December 8, and will then make four “exceptional” flights around France on January 7 and 8, as follows:

Saturday January 7 at 0830: Corsica and Mediterranean (AF787)
Saturday January 7 at 1330: South West and Gascony (AF789)

Sunday January 8 at 0830: Brittany (AF787)
Sunday January 8 at 1330: Flight around France (AF789)

The flights will include “Champagne and festive dining” for all passengers, as well as surprises, gifts and flight certificates.

Premium economy passengers will have access to the carrier’s business class lounge, while business class passengers will get private transfers to and from Paris CDG in partnership with Hertz.

Air France is also rostering the B787-9 onto its flights between London Heathrow and Paris CDG for a limited period, allowing short-haul customers “to discover Air France’s newest long-haul product”.

Tickets are available from €69 return in economy, and €249 in business class, currently for travel dates between February 6 and March 25. More details can be found here.

The carrier is debuting its latest premium economy seat on the new aircraft, “Featuring a more spacious seat, a seat recline of up to 130 degrees within a fixed shell, more leg room and additional storage areas”.

The first commercial service for Air France’s Dreamliner will be between Paris and Cairo on January 9, with Montreal becoming the first transatlantic route on May 1 when the carrier takes delivery of its second B787-9.
