Westjet has announced a new partnership with McDonald’s Canada, which will see the fast food chain’s McCafe Premium Roast coffee served on board its aircraft.

All of the low-cost carrier’s fleet of B737 and B767 aircraft will offer the coffee by December 1, with the group’s regional airline Westjet Encore to follow.

The B767s serve Westjet’s long-haul routes to destinations including Gatwick and Glasgow.

The carrier said that “Both companies’ high standards for quality and guest satisfaction were reflected in developing new brewing procedures on-board”.

“The result is a uniquely rich, bold taste of McCafé Premium Roast Coffee that will surprise and delight guests on Westjet flights.”

Westjet says it will serve around 30,000 complimentary cups of McCafe coffee each day, with the beverage being offered in a specially designed McDonald’s signature double-walled cup, featuring the chain’s on-cup rewards collector card and peelable sticker.
