Aparthotel operator Staycity has announced two new properties in Lyon and Marseille.

The Dublin-based group will open the 108-apartment Staycity Marseille in February, located in the city’s historical Vieux Port.

This will be followed by the 144-apartment Staycity Lyon in spring 2017, located in the city centre around ten minutes from the city’s main business hub and rail station.

The firm already operates a property in Paris’ 10th arrondissement, and commenting on the expansion CEO Tom Walsh said:

“France has long been a mainstay in our expansion plans and we hope to add further properties in strategic sites in the coming years.

“These properties and our existing premises in Paris, provide us with a firm base in France, which will help build our reputation as the go-to aparthotel operator for both leisure and business travellers.”

Staycity currently has aparthotels in Dublin, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, London, Paris and York.

The group will also add new properties in Manchester, London’s Covent Garden and Liverpool over the next 12 months, and aims to have over 15,000 apartments within its portfolio by 2021.
