Qatar Airways has added 158 seats per day to its Doha-Cape Town service for the winter season, by rostering a B777 onto the route.

Flights had previously been served by a B787 Dreamliner, accommodating up to 254 passengers – the B777 offers a total of 412 seats across economy and business class.

Commenting on the move Qatar Airways senior vice president Africa, Middle East and Pakistan, Mr. Ehab Amin, said:

“Qatar Airways is anticipating increased travel to Cape Town during the busy winter travel season, and as such we are happy to provide our passengers with greater choice when they make their travel plans.

“Cape Town is a hugely popular destination for leisure travel with its fantastic blend of nature, culture and wildlife. Whether it is mountain biking, surfing, sea kayaking, visiting historical places or even shopping, Cape Town offers every discerning traveller a memorable holiday experience.”

Qatar Airways has served Cape Town since 2005, originally with a one-stop service via Johannesburg, before upgrading the route to non-stop in November 2014.
