NH Hotel Group has added two properties to its NH Collection brand in Madrid and Barcelona.

The refurbished NH Collection Gran Hotel Calderon is located on Barcelona’s Rambla de Catalunya, and now features an interior design which “pays tribute to avant-garde Barcelona without forfeiting innovation and new technologies, epitomised by a 56 sqm LED video wall in the lobby”.

Facilities include 255 rooms across Superior, Premium and Junior Suite categories, as well as a terrace with pool and solarium, Italian restaurant Don Giovanni, and ten meeting rooms with a capacity for up to 350 guests.

Meanwhile NH Collection Suecia in Madrid has also been refurbished, and features 123 rooms with Scandinavian inspired decors including the use of “fine woods” for walls floors and furnishings.

Casa Suecia restaurant offers traditional Mediterranean dishes, and there is a speakeasy accessed through the restaurant toilets, “harking back to the days of Prohibition”. The hotel also a 150 sqm terrace, with a 40 sqm elevated private area.

Rooms in both properties feature Nespresso coffee machines, 46-inch LED TVs, and high-speed wifi.

The NH Collection now counts 67 properties within its portfolio, 22 of which are in Spain. A further eight hotels are set to be added by 2018, in locations including Mexico, Chile, France, Italy, Holland and Belgium.
