Cathay Pacific has delayed the reopening of its lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3, which closed in November 2015 for refurbishment.

The carrier had originally planned to unveiled the revamped facilities in June, but a Twitter conversation between Cathay and one of its customers last week confirmed that “The opening date of our lounge at London Heathrow Airport has been postponed”, with no new date offered.

Business Traveller has now obtained a statement from a Cathay Pacific spokesperson:

“With any construction projects of this nature and high design specifications, there will always be a chance of delays. We are excited about opening our new lounge in London and are working hard to ensure that everything is ready, and the design and safety specifications are met. We know our customers are keen for our lounge to open and so are we.”

We will keep readers informed as more news on the reopening is received.

During the works, first and business class passengers, as well as Silver, Gold and Diamond tier members of Cathay’s Marco Polo loyalty programme, and Emerald and Sapphire tier Oneworld members can use the following lounges in Terminal 3:

  • British Airways lounge(s), Galleries and First
  • American Airlines lounge(s), Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge
  • Heathrow No 1 lounge
