Gatwick airport has released a collection of new aerial shots taken by award-winning New York photographer Jeffrey Milstein.

The images show aircraft at stands and on the runway, and have been published as Gatwick recorded its busiest ever month in July, with 4.6 million passengers travelling through the airport.

The figure is up 6.9 per cent on the same month in 2015, with long-haul routes recording a 23 per cent growth.

Several UK airports have recently announced record figures, with Heathrow recording it busiest day ever on July 31, when the airport handled 258,028 passengers.

Manchester airport also recorded its busiest ever July, with 2,821,641 passengers travelling through the airport, an increase of 10 per cent on July 2015.

And Birmingham airport said it was on course to celebrate a record summer, with 1,221,212 people travelling through the airport in July, up 14 per cent compared to the same month last year.

Jeffrey Milstein’s exhibition The Dream of Flying is currently showing at the Brandts Museum of Photographic Art in Odense, Denmark.
