Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, one of Hilton Worldwide’s luxury brands, has announced a new Waldorf Astoria San Francisco.
The new 171-room hotel which will open in 2021 will be on the first 21 floors of a Foster + Partners designed tower located at Mission Street between Ecker and 1st Streets.
The new tower will be the centrepiece of a two million square-foot, mixed-used complex in the new “Transbay Neighbourhood”, in the centre of a redevelopment project surrounding the Transbay Transit Centre. It will be close to the Salesforce Tower (formerly the Transbay Tower). The project has two mixed-use towers – a 605-foot Mission Street Tower accommodating the hotel and apartments, and an 850-foot office and residential tower along First Street.
The Transbay Neighbourhood is bordered by Market Street on the north, Embarcadero on the east, Folsom Street on the south, and Hawthorne Street to the west.
The interior will be designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates and the hotel will offer a spa and Waldorf’s restaurant brand Peacock Alley.
